MONTHLY AND ANNUAL WIND DISTRIBUTION AS A FUNCTION OF ALTITUDE FOR PATRICK AIR FORCE BASE, CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA

Abstract

This analysis presents the statistical wind distribution at Patrick Air Force Base, Cape Canaveral, Florida (Atlantic Missile Range) in tabular form as a function of altitude for monthly and annual periods. Data are tabulated at 1-km intervals up to 32 km altitude. It summarizes the data available, and up-dates earlier studies with the aim of providing the latest possible statistical representation of the wind distributions. While uncertainties still exist in some details of the wind distribution, this is the most reliable information, to represent the larger scale wind flow characteristics. (Author)
