WELDING
Abstract
A discussion is presented of the development of welding in the machinery and construction industries of USSR. Topics discussed are (1) electric arc welding equipment; (2) a4) surfacing; (5) resistance welding; (6) gas flame treatment of metals; ( +) new welding methods (friction, high frequency current, controlle atmospheres, electron beams, ultrasonics, and flame spraying (plasma jets), and plastics welding); (8) quality control (nondestructive testing, x-rays and gamma rays, ultrasonic, magnetic, and electrical methods); and (9) scientific research.
