AN ANALYSIS OF FLUTTER IN OSEEN-TYPE VISCOUS FLOW

Abstract

Unsteady Oseen flow equations are employed to obtain a linearized solution based on a discontinuous wake model. Results are applied to large Reynolds number for estimation of the viscous co rection on unsteady lift and moment. If the asymptotic solution is not too slowly convergent, the correction is of the order of the ratio of the logarithm of Reynolds number to the Reynolds number, which is negligible. It shows that the generalized trailing edge condition is reasonable and might predict the essential correction in real fluid. (Author)
