THE COMPRESSIBLE TURBULENT BOUNDARY LAYER ON A FLAT-PLATE WITH TRANSPIRATION COOLING. I. MEASUREMENTS OF HEAT TRANSFER AND BOUNDARY LAYER PROFILES

Abstract

JECTION PARAMETER IS USED. Mach Number and velocity profiles through the boundary layer are tag, Shear stresses, Injection, Nitrogen, Aerodynamics. Measurements of heat transfer coefficients and recovery factor at Mach Numbers 2 and 3.2 on a porous flat plate with gaseous nitrogen injection are reported. It is found that the temperature difference ratio is largely insensitive to Mach and Reynolds Numbers when the proper injection parameter is used. Mach Number and velocity profiles through the boundary layer are tabulated for future analysis. (Author)
