ANTARCTIC TASK FORCE 43. 1960-1961

Abstract

Heavy tractor train traverses can be employed in the Antarctic to transport supplies too heavy for airlift. Daily preventive maintenance is essential to assure the success of any traverse. The Byrd-South Pole Traverse experienced no mechanical breakdowns. (Author)
