POTENTIAL OF FILAMENT WOUND COMPOSITES

Abstract

An imperfect fiber-resin composite bar is analyzed for tensile load. The resin or matrix stress-strain behavior is assumed nonlinear, to be represented by a hyperbolic sine function. Equations are derived for condition of stability on the dimensions of the composite bar and to find the maximum load for given composite dimensions. (Author)
