STANDBY, TWO-INCH DIRECTIONAL INDICATOR AND COMPASS SYSTEM

Abstract

Progress is reported in the development of a two-inch directional indicator and compass system incorporating automatic magnetic slaving, directional gyro stabilization with automatic synchronization, and latitude compensation. Prelimin ry te indicat that a centrifugal blower configuration can provide sufficient pressure to properly level the gyro rotor housing. The design of a test gyro rotor and stator is presented.
