RADAR OBSERVATIONS OF METEORS ACCORDING TO THE INTERNATIONAL GEOPHYSICAL YEAR PROGRAM

Abstract

An apparatus used in the investigation of meteorACTIVITY, WHICH EMPLOYS A SYSTEM OF PROTECTION AGAINST PULSE INTERFERENCE, IS DESCRIBED. Preliminary results of the measurement of meteor velocities obtained by Russian observation stations during the first 12 months of the International Geophysical Year are presented, and a study of the physical properties of the atmosphere at altitudes of 80 to 100 kilometers is made.
