ON THE DIVERGENCE FORM OF SOME GAS DYNAMIC EQUATIONS FOR GENERAL CURVILINEAR CO-ORDINATES

Abstract

A rearrangement is pr sented of the basis gas dynamic equations for general curvilinear coordinates into divergence form. The system is specialized to a generalized two-dimensional system and, in greater detail, to a general conical system. One of the variables can then be eliminated by integration and the results are ordinary differential equations which representA SIMPLIFIED DESCRIPTION OF THE PHENOMENON UNDER STUDY. A partial listing of the divergence form of the equations for various orthogonal co-ordinate systems is also included.
