THREE DIMENSIONAL AREA MATCH TECHNIQUE FOR PHOTOGRAPHIC CONTROL EXTENSION STUDY

Abstract

A study of the feasibility and optimum design of an automatic analytical triangulation system was made. The investigation was concerned with two aspects: (1) automatic identification and measurement of conjugate image points; and (2) the required data processing to derive the orientation parameters from the measurement data. The expected measurement system performance was calculated as a function of the statistics of the photographic image and the image size. Errors due to various noise sources were also calculated. A data processing system which would minimize the sum of squares of intersection errors was formulated. (Author)
