COMBINATION MAP COMPILATION. COLOR-SEPARATION METHODS

Abstract

This analysis covers the investigation and development of Combination Map Compilation - ColorSeparation Methods as substitute time-saving procedures for conventional or standard map compilation and color-separation methods performed in separate phases. The original purposes of the investigation were, first, to find ways of eliminating the duplication inherent in the standard methods and, second, to adapt scribing techniques to compilation procedures. It developed, however, that these purposes could be accomplished simultaneously by the application of several unique techniques or methods which became apparent during the investigation and which are herein described. Combination Map Compilation - Color-Separation Methods not only are practical and time saving, but are eminently suited to quantity cartographic production. Training in these methods actually inspires more individual initiative on the job which, consequently, tends toward greater production. (Author)
