MILLIMETER FERRITE DUPLEXING DEVICES

Abstract

A MILLIMETER FERRITE SWITCH WAS CONSTRUCTED WHICH PROVIDED VSW's under 1.3 over the 8% frequency band with insertion loses under 1 db and isolation between uncoupled ams of greater than 20 db. Switching times of less than 1 mcrosecond were measured sing a transistorized driver. IMPROVEMENTS WERE MADE IN THE CONSTRUCTION TECHNIQUES SED FOR THE HIGH POWER SOLATOR FIXTURE AND THE EFFECT OF CHANGES IN MAGNET POLE PIECE DESIGN WAS INVESTIGATED. A ferrte pulsed attenuator was constructed having an input VSWR less than 1.3:1; an insertion loss less than 0.7 db; and maxmum attenuation greater than 55 db over the frequency band. Switching times slightly greater than 1 microsecond were obtained with a high voltage supply. An expermental high power circulator was contructed having VSWR's less than 1.23:1, insertion loss less than 0.9 db, and isolation greater than 18 db over the 8% band. (Author)
