RESEARCH, STUDIES, AND INVESTIGATIONS OF THE TEMPERATURE DEPENDENCE OF LUMINESCENT EFFICIENCY OF PHOSPHORS

Abstract

Experimental measurement of phosphor luminescence efficiency as a function of temperature is discussed. The spectrophotographic apparatus used involved a spectrograph, a stainless steel bar on which the phosphor is mounted, means of control of the temperature gradient of the bar, and an UV excitation source. The stigmatic spectroscope image obtained for a (ZnCd)S:Ag phosphor is discussed. The vertical distribution and the lateral distribution of image intensity represents the temperature distribution of the phosphor luminosity and phosphor wavelength distribution of intensity, respectively.
