WOOD. A SOURCE OF RAW MATERIAL FOR CHEMICAL UTILIZATION

Abstract

More than 80 million tons of low-value wood could be made available annually as raw material for conversion to organic chemicals. This material would be available primarily as processing residues and harvesting residues. Data (orignially collected in 1952) are given for quantities and types of residues available by region in the United States. (Author)
