ON THE RELIABILITY OF THE ELECTRORETINOGRAM AS A RESPONSE TO A LIGHT STIMULUS

Abstract

A number of cases are reported where the shape of the human ERG appears as distorted and its size either enhanced or depressed, independently from the physical characteristics of the light stimulus and from the adaptation state of the retina. The results are interpreted by suggesting that unusual factors such as training and expectation may affect the ERG response. (Author)
