CORRELATION FUNCTION OF THE AMPLITUDES OF SIGNALS SCATTERED FROM AN ABSOLUTELY ROUGH SCREEN

Abstract

The correlation function of the amplitudes of signals reflected from the ionosphere is calculated taking into account both random and directed motion in the ionosphere. It is shown that the correlation function for an absolutely rough ionosphere is the product of auto-correlation functions obtained in two limiting cases: when there is only drift or purely random motion of the scattering centers.
