CONCENTRATED EXCITATION OF A METAL CYLINDER WITH A DIELECTRIC COATING

Abstract

The problem is analyzed of the symmetric concentrated excitation of an infinitely long metal cylinder covered with a dielectric layer by a ring of magnetic flux. It is shown that a plane surface wave propagated along the cylinder and a spherical radiation wave are here excited. The efficiency of the excitation of the surface wave is determined (the ratio between the surface and space wave energies). The radiation resistances of the emitting system is found. (Author)
