HIGH STRENGTH GLASS FIBERS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
Abstract
Major effort was on the design of the fiber drawing apparatus. Relatively minor amounts of time have been pent on designing the environmental control system, means of applying protective coatings to the virgin fiber, test apparatus for individual fiber tensile strength, and equipment for winding test rings. All of these facilitiesARE BEING BUILT IN ORDER TO OBTAIN THE PROCESS FLEXIBILITY DESIRED. (Author)
