RESEARCH IN ELECTRON EMISSION FROM SEMICONDUCTORS

Abstract

Theoretical and experimental studies are reported in the area of electron energy loss interactions and surface effects in semiconductors. These include a theoretical investigation of electronelectron interactions in semiconductors, velocity distribution measurements of photoelectrons from cesium treated silicon, studies of the effect of heat treatment on crystals as as function of etching procedure, studies of the effect of controlled deposition of cesium on unclean silicon surfaces, measurements of photoemission from silicon crystals cleaved in vacuum and treated with cesium. In addition, the first attempts to produce materials for large area germanium hot electron emitters are described. (Author)
