CHARACTERISTIC EXPONENETS OF MATHIEU FUNCTIONS.

Abstract

Problems involving periodic structures sometimes necessitate the solution of a Mathieu differential equation. The characteristic exponent of Floquet-type solutions was tabulated in the first three stable regions, with the help of a digital computer. The method used, as well as some details of programming are also discussed. (Author)
