DEVELOPMENT AND EVALUATION OF AUTOMATIC PROCEDURES FOR THE DETERMINATION OF ALBUMIN, GLOBULIN, GLUTAMIC-OXALOACETIC TRANSAMINASE AND PROTEIN-BOUND IODINE IN SERUM

Abstract

A satisfactory automatic method was devised for measuring protein-bound iodine in serum. Methods developed by the Technicon Instruments Corp. for serum albumin and globulin were evaluated and found to be satisfactory for clinical purposes. Unsuccessful attempts were made to automate a serum glutamic-oxaloacetic transaminase assay using 4-amino-2,3-diethoxy benzanilide diazonium chloride as a color reagent to measure the oxaloacetate formed by action of the enzyme.
