DEVELOPMENT OF TELEGRAPH TERMINAL TH-22( )/TG

Abstract

Research is on the development of a lightweight transistorized terminal capable of co verting teletypewriter output into frequency-shift voicefrequency signals (and vice versa), and of breaking in on a telegraph transmission. The report covers the study phase of the project during which time: (1) covering specification SCL1566A was analyzed; (2) power supply and circuitry, based on that of the TH-22 (XC-1)/TG, was breadboarded and tested; and (3) possible approaches to the break-in feature were formulated. One approach us s a resonant-reed relay to detect the break-in signal; the other, a lowpass filter to separate the break-in signal from local keying frequencies. Bec use this is the first report on t project, no firm conclusions re reached. (Author)
