NEWS OF TUNGUSKA METEORITE

Abstract

The problem proposed by Aizerman (Uspekhi Matematicheskikh Nauk., 1949, Vol. 4) in regard to the stability of a set of non-linear differential equati ns is presented. Con ition for stability are hypothesized by making a linear analogy to the original non-linear system. The validity of these conditions is tested for second-order systems only, by means of Lyapunov methods. The conclusion is that the answer to the Aizerman conjecture is always affirmative for second order systems. A general proof is given for the second order case, but no illustrative numerical examples are supplied. (Author)
