GLACIOLOCICAL OBSERVATIONS IN NORTHERN ELLESMERE ISLAND. 1959

Abstract

Field observations btained at the Ward Hunt Ice Shelf during the summer of 1959 are tabulated. These include temperatures, snow densities, hardness numbers, and descriptive remarks based on 14 pit studies made in early June and repeated in early July. Snow depths and densities are listed for a grid of 70 ablation stakes and a series of 44 stakes along a survey line across the northsouth extent of the shelf. (Author)
