THE THEORY OF OPTIMAL PROCESSES. I. THE MAXIMUM PRINCIPLE

Abstract

The theory of the process of controlling some technical object is discussed. The conditions are expounded in the form of a maximum principle. It is assumed that the factors which control the motion of the object can be written in the form of differential equations which are presented. The system described is considered to be autonomous, i.e., its right-hand side is independent of the time, t.
