200 MC BEACON TRACKING SYSTEM FOR REENTRY PHYSICS

Abstract

The beacon tracker at the Arbuckle Neck Site is multiplexed with the S-band radar and is capable of providing the antenna control system with pointing information so that an automatic track of a vehicle carrying a CW beacon can be obtained. This system was placed in operation in March 1960 and has successfully tracked vehicles both from Wallops Island and Eglin Air Force Base. (Author)
