WARHEAD FOR ROCKET, BOOSTED, 115MM, HE, XM-54
Abstract
Work was continued on the warheads for the 115- m boosted rockets. A new design of the base plug was made. A few sample castings were made and checked. After the pattern was revised, a production order was run. Some of these have been machined and shipped out.AD- 64 5494N6AD-264 550Div. 17, 26U (TIP M/EET) OTS price $14.00 Crucible Steel Co. of America, Midland, Pa. IMPROVED TITANIUM ALLOY SHEET (B120VCA). (Sheets, Welding rods, Wire Foils.) (Airframes, Materials.) The results of a co prehensive test program to collect and analyze certain selected fabricability and design data are presented. Over 11,000 lb of B120VCA hand sheet, welding wire, ribbon wrap, and foil were produced and distributed to airframe manufacturers, Government agencies and research laboratories for design data collection and fabrication study. Ingot chemical homogeneity was investigated and found to be excellent. The material produced was pedigreed as to its location within the ingot and mechanical property performance. These properties were analyzed statistically to provide criteria or establishing property variation due to a variety of processing factors and possible specifications. (Author)
