A LINEAR THEORY FOR INFLATABLE PLATES OF ARBITRARY SHAPE

Abstract

A linear small-deflection theory is developed for the elastic behavior of inflatable plates of which Airmat is an example. Included in the theory are the effects of a small linear taper in the depth of the plate. Solutions are presented for some simple problems in the lateral deflection and vibration of constant-depth rectangular inflatable plates. (Author)
