THE EPR STUDIES OF FREE RADICALS IN SOLUTION

Abstract

Work carried out in the following report was initiated to determine the nature of the process which involv s photolytically engendered radicals in a solve t environment. Observations of these short-live intermediates were conducted by lectron-spin resonance at reduce temper ture. The experiment demonstrates the facility with w ich the observations can be ma e. The terminating process, in particular, was studied, and rate constants and activa ion en rgies were determined. A unique oxygen interaction with the solvent was noted during the photolytic experiments (Author)
