PRESSURE-GAGE DESIGN FOR THE MEASUREMENT OF PRESSURES IN SHOCKTUBE WIND TUNNELS, SHOCKTUBES AND GUNS

Abstract

The pressure-gage design and circuitry of the piston-type strain gages are described. They are used by the Naval Ordnance Laboratory for the measurement of pressures in shocktube wind tunnels, shocktubes and guns. The pressures measured with gages of this type cover the range from a few psi to over 100,000 psi. (Author)
