DEVELOPMENT OF IMPROVED HIGH-STRENGTH PRE-IMPREGNATED MATERIALS FOR FILAMENT-WOUND ROCKET MOTOR CASES

Abstract

The first experimental lot (Lot 1) of HTS glass roving was received during this period and is presently being evaluated. This lot showed an approximate 10% increase in ultimate tensile strength (strand test) over the control lot. The weight per yard and the ignition loss were well within the specification range. All test specimens have been fabricated from this lot and are awaiting tests. This material has been sent to the vendor for controlled impregnation. (Author)
