THE NUCLEAR PROPERTIES OF RHENIUM

Abstract

Experiments designed to separate gamma-ray pulses from neutron pulses in NaI(T1) were carried out. A 5 mc Co-60 source was used along with the beam of neutrons and gamma rays from the University of Florida Training Reactor to test the method of separation. The pulse-height distributions obtained from the Co-60 source in the beam were treated in the separation as if the Co-60 radiations were part of the gamma rays in the reactor. Another set of experiments were performed without the Co-60 source. (Author)
