A DEVICE FOR THE MEASUREMENT AND AUTOMATIC RECORDING OF THE RADIATION BALANCE

Abstract

A device is described for measuring and automatically recording the radiation balance between the earth's surface and the atmosphere. It contains a two-way transmitter and an instrument for recording the electric signals which are proportional to the duration of the radiation value. It has the distinguishing feature that, in order to determine only the longwave radiation of the earth's surface and the atmosphere, its transmitter is encased in a glass shell and has two electric heating elements to compensate for the difference in temperatures of the upper and lower halves of the transmitter.
