GAS EQUILIBRIUM BEHIND THE SHOCK WAVE IN OXYGEN, NITROGEN AND THEIR MIXTURES AND XENON

Abstract

The calculation of the values of the thermodynamic parameters of a gas behind a direct shock wave in O2, N2 and their mixtures with Xe, assuming instantaneous establishment of equilibrium, is given. The calculations were made on a high-speed electronic computer. It is shown that the addition of xenon to oxygen and nitrogen noticeably raises the temperature and the degree of dissociation of the molecular components of the mixture. (Author)
