RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT IN HIGH STRENGTH HEAT RESISTANT ALLOYS

Abstract

The manufacture of 5-lb ingots of Ta and W base alloys, is discussed. A Ta-10% W alloy was successfully made by direct-current consumable arc melting. The ingot was then successfully impact extruded to sheet bar. (Author)
