COMPUTER SET, ELECTRONIC ORDER-OF-BATTLE AN/GSQ-38 (XW-1)
Abstract
A unique digital system for searching and retrieving information which meets a predetermined set of requirements from magnetic type files is described. The file organization and inquiry formulation are discussed and developed.A technique for evaluating criteria statements exptic tape speeds. The internal organization of the units is discussed. A sample search of a personnel file was formulated including a discussion of the record format and the preparation of an inquiry statement. Extensions of the systems applications are suggested.
