THE DETECTION AND MEASUREMENT OF TRACE HYDRO-CARBON IN COMPRESSED GASES. THE INFRARED ANALYZER AND THE HYDROGEN FLAME IONIZATION ANALYZER

Abstract

Two non-dispersive infrared analyzers and four hydrogen flame ionization hydrocarbon analyzers were test d and evaluated to etermine characteristics most suitable for a military, field type hydrocarbon analyzer capable of detecting and measuring in the ra ge of 0 to 3.0 parts per million by weight total hydrocarbons. As a result of this investigation, the hydrogen flame ionization analyzer was determined to be the more suitable for Army missile systems. (Author)
