LOW TEMPERATURE PARAMAGNETIC RELAXATION OF COLOR CENTERS IN KC1

Abstract

The spin-lattice relaxation of color centers in KCl by use of low temperature paramagnetic resonance was examined by the method of measuring the recovery of the magnetization as a function of the time after saturation. The measurements were made by saturating the resonance at high power and then repeatedly sampling the recovery using low level microwave power. Eff cts in the paramagnetic resource due to irradiation after heavy optical bleaching were also observed.
