INFRARED COATING STUDIES

Abstract

Experimental work was directed primarily toward the fabrication of a multilayer filter, comple e with auxiliaries, for isolating radiation through the 8-13 micron atmospheric window. Broad band filters utilizing PbTe and either ZnS or Sb2S3 were made and representative transmittance curves of these filters are presented. A low pass filter construction, suitable as an auxiliary for these filters, was determined and experimentally made samples are presented both alone and as a composite with the band pass. (Author)
