DEVELOPMENT AND PRODUCTION OF IMPROVED MOLYBDENUM SHEET BY POWDER METALLURGY TECHNIQUES

Abstract

Evaluation of 3 commerical arc-cast alloys revealed an outstanding powder-metallurgy alloy, namely, o-0.5Ti- .046C prepared by in ring a 2150 C in a dissociate -ammonia atmo phere. The lloy combine excellent high-temperature properties and strength-to-weight r tio with good rollability. It is superior to i s compositio al counterpart sintered at 18 C I HYDROGEN AND TO ARC-CAST Mo-0.5Ti. To investigate this alloy further, a new erie of rolling lab w s prepared and sin ered at about 2150 C u der bot dissociated- m onia and hydrogen atmospheres. (Author)
