SURVEILLANCE PROBLEMS

Abstract

The surveillance of a machine which produces output in a continuous stream when it is not in the repair state is discussed. The objective is to maximize the long run average income per unit of time. The basic block of time is called a cycle which is the time from beginning production after repair until the recurrence of that event. The cycle length will in general be a random variable. (Author)
