A BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE EFFECT OF PLAN FORM ON AUGMENTATION FOR GROUND EFFECT MACHINES WITH AN INTEGRATED SYSTEM FOR LIFT AND PROPULSIVE THRUST
Abstract
A brief summary of the effect of plan form on augmentation for ground-effect machines with an integrated system for lift and propulsive thrust is presented. In addition to the augmentation obtained from tests on different plan forms, the results include a comparison of the loss in augmentation with increase in propulsion for several plan forms. Results show that, with the proper choice of plan form, the propulsive thrust can be increased considerably, with only a slight loss in lifting capability. (Author)
