COLD EXPOSURE AND ACCLIMATIZATION IN ALLOXAN DIABETES

Abstract

The survival rate, incidence of cold injury, and physiological responses of a group of alloxan diabetic rats were studied at 5 C before and during cold acclimatization. There was a marked reduction in survival rate, and increase in the incidence of cold injury in the diabetic animals. Some differences in the physiological response of the diabetic animal to cold was found.
