RESEARCH STUDY OF PHYSICOCHEMICAL TECHNIQUES FOR THE PURIFICATION OF ORGANIC COMPOUNDS

Abstract

Rate determinations for high molecular weight compounds permeating several commercial films were completed and 7 more instances of rates between 4 and 12 grams/hr-sq-m were found. Rate measureme t for neohexane were completed and rate factors for n-hexane, acetone, chloroform, and ethanol with ten commercial films were calculated. A correlation between polarity of film and permeant and the rate is illustrated. Thirteen additional binary sep ration-rate tests were completed. (Author)
