FABRICATION OF TRANSISTORIZED AND MINIATURIZED RECEIVERS

Abstract

The development is presented of a set of transistorized, miniaturized 1.5 mc. receivers for measurement of cosmic noise above the earth's ionosphere. Three tuned radio frequency receivers were constructed, with center frequency 1480 kc., bandwidth 40 kc., and noise figure 3.5 db. Provision was made for periodic receiver calibration. The receivers successfully withstood shock, vibration, temperature and vacuum tests representative of the Atlas vehicle environmental conditions. (Author)
