A STUDY OF FUNDAMENTAL MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF CERAMIC SINGLE CRYSTALS

Abstract

All of the components for the three-point bending apparatus have been received and assembly is nearly complete. Portions of the apparatus have been satisfactorily tested. Crystals of relatively pure silicon carbide, as well as crystals with boron in solid solution with the silicon carbide, have been selected and additional crystals will be grown as required. (Author)
