A SOLUTION TO THE BLAST WAVE DIFFRACTION PROBLEM

Abstract

An analysis is given of the diffraction of a blast wave during encounter with a subsonically traveling, two-dimensional airfoil of finite chord. The method of analysis employed is the conical flow technique of geometrical acoustics. Results are given in closed analytical form as well as numerically. Representative numerical results are compared with the results of the two-dimensional traveling gust theory. (Author)
