VAPOR DEPOSITION OF TUNGSTEN AND THE EFFECTS OF PROCESS VARIABLES

Abstract

Experimental work on W-coating rocket nozzles inserts was continued by studying the effects of W vapor-deposition variables. Six W cylinders were vapor-deposited at different temperatures under atmosphere pressure, and constant ratio and flow rate of reactant gases. Arrangements were made to W- coat a graphite model of a W-beryllia nozzle insert to determine suitable time of deposition and flow rate of the reactant gases.
