MOLECULAR DIMENSIONS IN CRYSTALLINE POLYMERS

Abstract

From theoretical considerations the molecular dimensions of polymer chains in partially crystalline polymers existing in any state of orientation are calculated. The theory also applies to isolated molecules in solution which have helical and random coil regions within the same molecule. The treatment is based on two probability parameters and the mathematical method of the Markoff chain. (Author)
