GROUND STATE POTENTIAL ENERGY OF DIATOMIC MOLECULES

Abstract

The restrictions placed on the ground state potential energy of a diatomic molecule by the inequality d2(R2E)/dR2 0 are discussed. This leads to rather weak smoothness conditions on E(R).
